ソーラン節

So-ran bushi is a traditional japanese dance created by common laborers.  The movements are based off of those of fisherman, such as pulling up nets and yanking ropes.  The SGI youth in Chesapeake Bay Region decided to perform a modern version of this dance at the Gandhi-King-Ikeda Exhibit opening this Tuesday night at Coppin State University. Surprisingly, we were able to gather around ten or so dedicated youth to perform in just a few days.  Today's practice lasted for a while, but I did not hear any grumbling or complaining, and in fact, everyone was eager to perfect the dance.  Check it out an example below!
