Gandhi, King, Ikeda

Spring break has commenced. Except that I have to catch up school work (take a midterm) and prepare to take part in the Gandhi, Kind, Ikeda (GKI) Exhibit at Coppin State that the SGI is holding from April 25th.  Anyone who'd like to come, please let me know :)  Two weeks from now, Columbia Chapter in my area will be hosting a commemorative March 16th meeting at the Columbia Central Library in Howard County.  The youth division will be involved in that activity in a variety of different ways and it is serving as a test-run for our GKI exhibit on April 25th.

My particular group is bringing SGI's nuclear abolition campaign to Baltimore.  Some of you may have heard of the "People's Decade for Nuclear Abolition."  The particular campaign began in 2007, in response to SGI President Daisaku Ikeda's 2007 peace proposal, which he writes annually and submit to the UN.  That peace proposal, among others, emphasized the importance nuclear disarmament in protecting the dignity and value of human life, which Daisaku Ikeda's mentor, Josei Toda, had staunchly advocated for.

We're frantically preparing for the meeting at the library, but it's been very fun working with other SGI youth members in Baltimore, particularly those from MICA because they always bring fresh and artistic ideas.  More people joined today at our bi-weekly "Rock the Era" meeting, which continues our SGI-youth campaign for peace and our festival from last July in Philly.

Anyway, I gotta get things done. Hope you enjoy this GKI video, which includes part of the interview of Edward Lawrence Carter, the Dean of the Martin Luther King International Chapel, who is coming to Coppin State for our GKI Exhibit.
