Today was an SGI-filled day. It's so refreshing to be in the company of joyful and happy people. This morning, I participated in my second Gajokai shift at the D.C. Culture Center with Franco, a relatively new member. I was so inspired to hear his struggles and victories and just listening to him talk about his life. I also spoke to the Byakuren on shift, Elisa, who is a big star in the classical theatre scene in D.C. She actually played one of the lead roles with the Shakespeare Theatre group just last week.

I was intending to help out with the SGI booth at the korean festival as I do every year, but I was so exhausted by the time I got home from D.C. that I ended up falling asleep. I try not to take naps because it just throws off my sleep patterns, but I think it was a much needed break.

In the evening, I helped prepare members of the deaf group for the introductory exam that is taking place this month again. I was soooo happy to see Chris, a childhood friend of mine. I got to practice my sign language again, and it miraculously started to come back (I took two sign language classes two summers ago). It really brought back memories of my of how I was originally inspired to practice Buddhism with some level of seriousness and why I decided to attend SUA. It was such an awesome meeting! I'm doing the same thing next Tuesday :)

As for other things going on my life, I've been bothered by the fact that some of my past employers have not responded to the requests of the State Law Examiners. It's particularly important because my bar application will not be complete without their responses. I have my character committee interview on Tuesday and I know that my employers' responses are due soon after.

The good news is that I learned that Shane passed the Colorado Bar!!!!! Congratulations, Shane! You've inspired me so much. Now onward to our dream of building our law firm!
